Midea MAH09H1AGR Packaged Window Heat Pump

Posted by James Herman on Jan 7th 2026

Everything worked perfect for me as I installed this by myself. No warranty if installed by someone other than a licensed contractor. I had to build up my windowsill so it would be24" from the indoor floor. You raise up the outdoor unit so it's in a horizontal position. They warn you not to leave the outdoor unit horizontally on the seat of the bracket for more than 3 minutes to protect the compressor. I lifted up the outdoor side to rest it on the windowsill and then lifted up the indoor side and just pushed it out through the window. It all goes very fast. As soon as the outdoor unit gets on that extended platform then it collapses down and pulls the indoor side against the interior wall. Then everything goes down and rests on the two feet outside and the two feet inside. The bridge between the indoor side and the outdoor side is already set up for a windowsill width of 6.5 inches. My windowsill had a width of 6.75 inches so I didn't need to adjust the length of that bridge. I put a level on the outdoor unit and got a quarter bubble, indicating proper slope away from window. There are plenty of drain holes on the bottom of the outdoor unit. I took a Sharpie and traced the power button and both the up and down arrows for adjusting the temperature so I could see them at night without having to turn on a room light. The heat is a comfortable heat. Not dry air like I get from running plug in 1500-watt portable heaters. You need a dedicated plug. I had a 20-amp line that used to run the blower motor on a removed forced air propane furnace. I just extended that line to have a 20-amp dedicated plug right next to my window. I live in a 14x52 foot singlewide, and this unit easily warms up the front half of my home where I spend most of my time. I got rid of the furnace several years ago and went all electric. Really tickled this PWHP worked out so well for me.
